Knights of Wybornia was written in honour of celebrated trombonist and teacher Michael Wyborn. Scored (unsurprisingly!) for a twelve-piece consort of alto, tenor and bass trombones, it reflects in its forthright character his impressive twenty-five years of service to St Mary's Cathedral College, and in its numbers and playful back-and-forth the vibrant siblinghood of his former students. The piece is also a personal thank-you from the composer for kind words in dark times. Congratulations, Michael!!
